FAQs
What is your speciality?
1
I specialize in trauma-informed therapies. My approach is rooted in understanding how each person learned to get their needs met in the world — and how those patterns may no longer be serving them. I use the word "trauma" broadly, to mean any experience that has significantly reshaped the way our nervous system interacts with the world and influences our emotions and behaviors. I also have a deep passion for supporting people navigating addictive behaviors, which are among the most common ways people cope with overwhelming — and often under-recognized — stress.
How do I get started?
2
Schedule a free consult with me. If you feel comfortable and you want to move forward, ee'll schedule your first appointment and I'll send you a link to your client portal to complete some brief paperwork ahead of time. This helps us make the most of our face-to-face time together. Like any new relationship, it will take a few sessions to get to know each other — but I value your time and I'm committed to helping you see meaningful progress as soon as possible.
What makes you different?
3
I offer approachable expertise. I am a real person, not a soft-voiced, blank slate therapist robot. I will give you my honest, direct opinion and my goal is to offer you actionable feedback. I have an extensive background working with the most judged and ostracized populations in our world. I can always relate personally to those experiences, even if those experiences are not my own.
How much will I pay?
4
My out-of-pocket rate is between $120–$150 per 50 minute session. I currently accept Medicaid and most major insurance plans. I'm always happy to talk through how we can make therapy work within your budget — please don't hesitate to ask.
What will my treatment look like?
4
This depends on your goals and whether we're using insurance. If insurance is involved, we'll identify a diagnosis and set more formal treatment goals. If you're paying out of pocket, we have more flexibility to focus on what matters most to you without the constraints of managed care requirements.
